چکیده

Background Computer-based inline VF software can aid in the quantitative analysis of left ventricular (LV) function. Inline VF automatically locates the LV base and apex, detects endoand epicardial contours in each cardiac slice and phase, and performs a volumetric calculation to determine ejection fraction (EF), end-diastolic volume (EDV), end-systolic volume (ESV). The method presents an opportunity to reduce data processing time and hence reporting time. We compare three methods of postprocessing: automatic, semi-automatic, and manual.

Semi-automatic inline calculation of left ventricular function using cardiac MRI (CMR)

Background Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging is increasingly recognized as the gold standard for evaluating left ventricular function (LVF). Measurement of LVF is typically done manually by tracing endocardial and epicardial borders on a stack of short axis (SA) cine images of the heart and is based on the modified Simpson assumption that the left ventricle approximates a spherical shape...

Automatic left ventricular analysis with Inline VF performs well compared to manual analysis: results from Barts Cardiovascular Registry

Background Manual left ventricular (LV) volumes and function analysis is time consuming and operator dependent. Automated and semi-automated LV analysis tools could be helpful, especially in high volume clinical and research centres. Inline VF (Siemens) is a fully-automated assessment tool performing LV volume analysis during scan acquisition. The aims of this study were: 1) to assess performan...

An Efficient Framework for Accurate Arterial Input Selection in DSC-MRI of Glioma Brain Tumors

Introduction: Automatic arterial input function (AIF) selection has an essential role in quantification of cerebral perfusion parameters. The purpose of this study is to develop an optimal automatic method for AIF determination in dynamic susceptibility contrast magnetic resonance imaging (DSC-MRI) of glioma brain tumors by using a new preprocessing method.Material and Methods: For this study, ...

Measurement of Left Ventricular Myocardium Wall Instantaneous Motions with Echocardiographic Sequence Images

Background & Aims: One of the important aims of quantitative cardiac image processing is the clarification of myocardial motions in order to derive biomechanical behavior of the heart in the disease condition. In this study we presented a computerized analysis method for detecting the instantaneous myocardial changes by using 2D echocardiography images. Methods: The analysis was performed on th...

Correlation of MRI findings and cognitive function in multiple sclerosis patients using montreal cognitive assessment test

Background: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has improved the diagnosis and management of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is a brief, sensitive test that has been recommended by National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke and Canadian Stroke Network (NINDS-CSN) as a reliable tool to detect mild cognitive impairments. This study aimed to eva...
